The Story of Jack Daniel ol' No.7

The Man, The Myth, The Legend

During our trip, BG and I visited the Jack Daniel's Distillery to learn more about a lesser-known American Hero. Here are a few quick facts you might not know about the legendary No.7 brand and how it got its name.

-Jack Daniel hated his mom, so he left home..at age 7.

-He lived with a preacher for 7 years, after which, he stole his whiskey recipe and started perfecting it for generations of college kids to get wasted.

-Once he got older and started brewin' love potion aka whiskey, he was quite the ladies man, he had 7 girlfriends. His pet names for them were Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday...

-While searching for the perfect blend of whiskey, he got drunk, a lot. During a particularly bad bender he "misplaced" 7 barrels of hooch. Upon waking up from this stupor he eventually discovered the barrels, three years later. Hurting for cash, he sold them, and surprisingly people loved it. This is the same method that they use now a days to get us all drunk. The moral of the story;

Getting black-out drunk and forgetting shit is the best way to start a billion dollar industry.
